Amy Schiffman, MD, who joined the CaringMatters Board of Directors in 2025, is a distinguished leader in the field of aging-in-place and home-based care. With over 15 years of experience, she has become a trailblazer in navigating the complexities of medical and non-medical care, Medicare, and innovative payment models.

Dr. Schiffman’s journey began as the founder and medical director of Capital House Calls, LLC, a pioneering home-based primary care practice. Her deep understanding of the intersection between complex care needs and payment systems has set new standards in the field.
​
Following this success, Dr. Schiffman served as the Chief Medical Officer for a major human services organization, where she oversaw their hospice services and end-of-life care programs. Her expertise in managing diverse care settings, including hospice and home care, has been instrumental in improving patient outcomes and streamlining care delivery.
​
Currently, Dr. Schiffman is the CEO of AgingHere, a communications platform dedicated to connecting professionals within the aging-in-place space. She also co-hosts the popular Mastering Medicare Podcast for business and healthcare professionals navigating Medicare and related fields.
​
A board-certified Emergency Medicine physician, Dr. Schiffman holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a graduate degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University, and a medical degree from George Washington University, where she also completed her residency in Emergency Medicine.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Schiffman enjoys biking, traveling, and spending time with her family in Bethesda, MD.
