Amy Fier, LCSW-C
Senior Director of Patient & Caregiver Services
Amy Fier joined CaringMatters in 2023 as the Senior Director of Patient and Caregiver Services, bringing over 10 years of experience in non-profit work, healthcare and mental health. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C), Amy has worked with various non-profits, including Johns Hopkins Community Physicians and EveryMind, where she most recently served as a Director with the Adult and Community Services Division. In this role, Amy managed programs that work with older adults and individuals living with a disability or chronic mental illness who need financial and emotional support.
Amy has worked extensively with volunteer programs that train and support volunteers in providing much needed assistance to individuals in the community. She strongly believes in the power of volunteering and the fulfillment it brings not just to those being served, but to those volunteering their time and energy for a cause. Amy has facilitated a variety of trainings in the community, including Mental Health First Aid, self-care, suicide prevention and crisis intervention.
“I am excited and honored to join the CaringMatters community and look forward to working with all of the wonderful volunteers and staff supporting individuals and families dealing with serious illness and experiencing grief,” said Amy.
Born in El Salvador, Amy moved to Long Island New York with her family as a child. She attended Towson University and graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and Women’s Studies. Amy earned her Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Maryland Baltimore.
