Betty Romero
Board of Trustees
After 4 years as a member of the Board of Directors, Betty transitioned to the Board of Trustees in 2024. Her involvement with CaringMatters started while serving as a member of the AARP-MD Executive Council. During her tenure, she endorsed programs, initiated community outreach, built relationships with local government officials, and strengthened relationships with local organizations.
Betty has demonstrated exceptional talent when identifying and cultivating mutually benefiting partnerships for employers, clients, government advisory groups, and nonprofit Boards of Directors. In addition, her ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives has consistently improved processes for startups and elevated established organizations.
Betty was appointed as a Commissioner to serve at the Montgomery County Commission for Women, serves on the Board of Friends White Flint, seats on the Montgomery County Age-Friendly Leadership Advisory Group, and on the Montgomery County Employment 50+ Workgroup. Professionally, she served as Chief Operating Officer for Microjuris, a pioneer legal information provider and search engine in Latin America. Also, in Latin America, Betty served as the Executive Director of the Office of the Government of Puerto Rico, working on economic development, trade, and commerce initiatives. Before joining the government as a strategic leader, she began her career in the financial services industry as an Investment and Wealth Management Advisor.
Betty is a bilingual global citizen who, with her husband, raised three strong and accomplished women in Bethesda, MD.
