Ernest “Chico” Rosemond, an innovative and resourceful nonprofit management professional, has a 30+-year career in personal counseling, finance, law, event and nonprofit management. Recently retired as Program Director of New Strategies, a Business for Impact program at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Chico joined the CaringMatters Board of Directors, having previously served as a Trustee.
Previously he spent 15 years at AARP, in positions from Event Manager to Interim Vice President of Strategic Alliances. Prior to AARP, Chico was the Development Director of the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE). Before joining NABSE, he had a legal career including being named an Exxon Law Scholar, clerking for the Honorable Henry H. Kennedy, Jr., of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and serving as the head of probate and estate planning at a Washington, D.C., law firm. Prior to that, Chico worked as an insurance/investment broker and bank manager.
Chico received his B.A. in Psychology and Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Development from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. Chico’s volunteer activities include CaringMatters (Board of Directors and Volunteer Helping Hands), the Georgetown African American Historic Landmark Project (Executive Consultant) and Mary’s House for Older Adults (Executive Volunteer).
