Nancy Richardson, RN
Historian, Board of Directors​
Nancy was named to the position of Historian on the Board of Directors in 2024. Previously, she served as the Chair of the Board of Directors from 2015 through 2019. She joined the Board in 2008.

Nancy first became involved with CaringMatters in 2006 and quickly became a hands-on member of the organization’s dedicated volunteer community, taking on roles at every level of the organization – from using her medical expertise to volunteer as the nurse at Camp Erin, CaringMatters’ camp for grieving children, to serving as a volunteer caregiver to so many in need, and eventually, to joining the CaringMatters’ Board of Directors.
Her experience with CaringMatters also included teaching the health class at various high schools in Montgomery County, as well as training new volunteers. Nancy brings specialized expertise to Camp Erin, gained from over three decades of ownership and operation of Bar-T with her husband, Joe. During that time, Bar-T has grown into a large, year-round childcare agency with multiple sites in both Montgomery and Frederick Counties. Their programs that have positively impacted and shaped generations of children and families in the Washington, DC area. Bar-T, generously contributes pro bono camp space, transportation, and staff time for the Camp Erin Montgomery County weekend each May.

In 2018, Nancy and Joe accepted CaringMatters Corporate Leadership award on behalf of Bar-T.​ She was named one of the 2019 Washingtonians of the Year, after being nominated by CaringMatters. Read the article HERE.
Nancy is a registered nurse in Montgomery County and lives with her family in Frederick, Maryland.
